It was a real pleasure getting to know my clients and understanding their needs for this wonderful home newly remodelled. As a young family with three kids they wanted an impressive family house with a classic look that wasn’t so precious they felt uncomfortable.
It was so important for us to design a formidable entryway that would give the wow factor my clients were looking for. As you come in from the large front door, you are guided by a beautiful paneling, symmetrical on both side of the room. We carried on the paneling on the staircase to give continuity and to draw your eyes up to the next floor. The main colour for this room is white and we mixed it with the organic texture given by the extra large console table. The entryway is so spacious that we manage to create a sitting are positioning a bench opposite the console, this also gave balance to the space.
Moving into the living room, we created a convivial seating area and then added two armchairs to give life to a cozy reading corner with a wonderful view to the back garden. The costume made bookshelf, not only gives a useful storage space, but can hide away the TV behind a double concertina door.
The dining room is an open plan with the kitchen, but it is also connected to the living space by a double glass door, so it was important for us to design the space as a separate room from the living, but also connect the two with an appropriate colour palette.
On the first floor we were in charge of designing the master bedroom and a little girl’s bedroom, we were lucky to have lovely spacious rooms to work with.
For the master bedroom we sticked to an earthy and fresh colour palette, mixing the greens and white together. We decided to carry the square panelling for the entire wall behind the bed, this creates an illusion of higher ceiling. We added organic textures with the side tables and a touch of elegance with the brass wall light. I love how this bedroom turned up, it’s the perfect space to relax at the end of a long day!
We had fun designing the little girl’s bedroom, as most of little girls, she loved pink, but we also wanted to create a space that would grow with the child. We opted for a beautiful wallpaper from Cole & Son to create a feature wall and we used a neutral backdrop on the wall. We added warmth to the room with dusty pink curtains and blinds on all the windows. The result is a calming, soft room where the little girl can have fun but at the same time enjoy in the future years.
